Science identifies genes that aging can be slowed
The calorie consumption limit has proved a good way to combat aging. Researchers have now identified genes that are switched off when they have the same effect as a reduction of the calorie consumption, the aging is slowed down. The results can sometimes lead to the development of drugs against aging.
The researchers came to the genes on the rail by means of a computer algorithm. "Most algorithms attempt to find drugs that kill cells and thus cancer or bacterial infections combat targets," explains researcher Karen Yitzhak out. The algorithm Yitzhak and colleagues doing something else. It is not looking for places where medication must go to kill cells, but places where medication must go to diseased cells into healthy cells.
How does it work?
The researchers describe the processes occurring in living cells play using mathematical equations and computers. The models resulting rolls are actually a kind of digital laboratories with a single click can be adjusted and observed as the conditions in the cells that have the effect changes. The algorithm that Yitzhak developed, it can collect information about any two metabolic conditions and then predict what genetic changes or changes in the environment in order for them to switch.
